Snapline for Mac

Snapline is a native macOS screenshot and screen-recording app that lives in the menu bar. It captures regions, windows, and whole displays; stitches long pages into one tall image while you scroll (it never scrolls for you, so it needs no Accessibility permission); records to MP4 with an optional webcam bubble, microphone and system audio, and click and keystroke overlays; converts recordings to GIF; and reads the text in every capture on device, so your whole history is searchable by what the screenshots say.

New in 3.0: Snapline Studio, an add-on for polished screen recordings. A Studio take records the pointer's path and clicks beside the video, so the editor can put a background and frame around it (padding, rounded corners, a shadow, a canvas from 16:9 to 9:16), redraw and smooth the cursor, zoom where the clicks cluster, cut it on a timeline and export an MP4 (H.264 or HEVC) that is filed in History. Studio needs a Mac with Apple silicon, and it is bought once and kept, never a subscription.

The editor annotates with re-editable vector arrows, shapes and counters, selects and copies text right on the image, and redacts in the pixels: a redaction is baked into the saved image rather than laid over it, and Solid is the one style image analysis cannot reverse. Smart Redact finds email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers, API keys and secrets for you, and, if you turn them on, faces and people. Captures save as PNG, JPEG, HEIC or WebP, and History groups them into Collections.

Built in Swift, on AppKit and SwiftUI, not Electron. No account, no cloud, no telemetry: captures and text recognition never leave the Mac, and Screen Recording is the only permission it requires; Microphone, Camera and Input Monitoring are asked for only for the recording features that use them. Free to try in full for 14 days, with no card and no sign-up, Studio included on Apple silicon. After that, capture and new Studio takes need a license: a one-time purchase with a perpetual license and a year of updates, not a subscription. History, the editor, Studio projects already made, text recognition and translation stay open without one.
